Earth Month at Coriander

April is Earth Day month and, suitably, a month of great change. It will take great change to divert humankind from its current path of harmful consumption. And this great change is achieved through small, manageable, consistent steps. Steps towards a sustainable future.

Here at Coriander, we continually seek ways to improve our sustainable practices both for this beautiful starship we call Earth and for you, so you can make your purchases with us safe in the knowledge that we have taken the most eco-conscious approach possible with our various supply chains.

And we have officially joined the sustainable fashion movement through our partnership with Common Thread Collingwood, a clothing thrift store that supports My Friend’s House, a local shelter for abused women and children.

You are invited this Earth Month to come be a part of Coriander Style’s No-Ragrets Spring Clothing Drive, a circular fashion initiative with Common Thread Collingwood. Please take some time to sort through your wardrobe for gently-loved pieces that no longer thrill you to donate at Style. We will take them to the thrift store for you and gift you a $15 same day credit for your efforts. After all, you will need the room for some fresh pieces from our new Spring 2026 arrivals.

From the tips of your fingers to the tips of your toes, Coriander has a range of eco friendly product lines to share.

BKind Nail Polish offers “all-natural, plant-based, vegan, eco-friendly beauty and skin care products made in Quebec […] From ingredients to packaging, we choose the best options for you, your skin and the environment.” Checkout Life’s wide selection of appealing colours and gentle nail care products from this Quebec-based brand.

Our clothing lines such as Toad&Co. and Shannon Passero and SAXX are stylish ways to step into the sustainable fashion movement. These companies have a strict mandate to become part of the solution through their supply chains and their choice of materials, from opting for sustainable fibre crops to using recycled textiles for their pieces.

Ilse Jacobsen Tulip Shoes come in a rainbow of colours and boast recycled rubber and thread content to reduce the environmental impact of their production. And these shoes are comfortable all-day. And lightweight. AND are machine washable when the need arises.

Escape Room games and Villager and Fred and Friends puzzles are eco-conscious pastime brands that have tackled the content aspect of their products, embracing the practice of incorporating recycled materials into the packaging and the product itself.

And of course, simply getting out and digging around in the soil, be it a garden or flowerpot, is the best thing to help Earth regain her green spaces. Seed Packets flower seeds are sustainably sourced in Canada and blossom into beautiful feeding stations for our pollinators.

As a small, local business, Coriander takes into account the environmental impact of every aspect of running our shops, of every decision we make. We know we can do better and when we know better, we do better. Sustainability is the key to maintaining a liveable future for humankind on this planet.

This Earth Month, come see how Coriander can help you on your sustainability journey, one beautiful step at a time.
